This summary of the two-day symposium captures local, regional, and international cross and inter-sectoral voices across different disciplines, drawing down from their research and professional experiences with approaches to reducing crime and violence. The symposium was organ-ized by the Centre for Criminal Justice and Security of the University of the West Indies, with support from CariSECURE 2.0 and the Office of the Principal at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. This summary serves as a record of the symposium and in some ways an update on the status of evidence, data, and context in the approaches that have been used to address crime and violence in the English-speaking Caribbean.

The Caribbean Journal of Criminology (CJC), a publication of the Institute of Criminal Justice and Security (ICJS), The University of the West Indies (UWI), is a multi-disciplinary, peer-reviewed journal, published annually, and financed by the four campuses of The UWI. The CJC primarily aims to promote critical examination of the complex and persistent crime and security problems in the Caribbean.
