About the author

Sean McMahon was born in Derry and educated at St Columb's College and Queens University Belfast. He later returned to the city of his birth to teach in St Columb's college. He has written and edited dozens of books in the areas of history, literary criticism and biography, including the bestselling 'A Short History of Ireland' and 'Rebel Ireland: from Easter Rising to Civil War'.
