About the author

Gerald K. Stone received his M.L.S. from McGill University. In 1983 he joined the National Archives of Canada, providing expertise and leadership in improving access to archival and published material through resource description standards and systems. He retired in 2009 as Director of Planning and Research of Library and Archives Canada's Documentary Heritage Collection Sector.
